Today I am going to introduce you to the incredibly rare Kwee-Ku-Ku bird! Kwee-Ku-Kus are named for their calls which sound like Kweeeeee-Ku-Ku-Kuuuu. You can find them all over the world if you know where to look.

Kwee-Ku-Kus come in any pastel shade of color and have soft fleece like feathers on their bodies. They have long delicate legs and petal like wings.

There are many different kinds of Kwee-Ku-Ku birds. Some have long flowing tails and others have small puffs. Some have flower shaped crests and others have no crest. Crest-less Kwee-Ku-Kus usually like to wear tiny crowns on their heads. They like to decorate themselves and their homes and have been known to steal jewelry and things.

Their tongues are long and thin for reaching into flowers and sucking out the nectar and pollen. Their diet also includes flower petals and dew drops. They will steal human sweets if they get a chance. That may explain that missing cookie...

All Kwee-Ku-Kus are very vain. They are constantly preening themselves and bathing, though they will only bathe in very clean water. If they can't find a satisfactory puddle they will stand under a dripping plant to wash.

Besides their Kweeeeee-Ku-Ku-Kuuuuing they can also sing like a flute. Have you ever heard random flute music while walking? It was probably a Kwee-Ku-Ku.

Kwee-Ku-Kus are almost as tall as an ordinary pencil and as light as a feather. Being so light helps them fly really high and float on the breeze. They have been mistaken for fallen flowers when blowing past.

Kwee-Ku-Ku eggs come in pastel colors as well. When the chicks hatch they are only about the size of a pea! Kwee-Ku-Ku hatchlings are always white and have no crest and only a stub for a tail. As they grow they either slowly change color or stay white (which very rarely happens).

Kwee-Ku-Kus are also very picky about nests. They only nest in bunches of pastel flowers of a certain kind. Maybe that's why they are so rare...
Well, now you know about these magnificent fowl!
I hope you enjoyed that. Farewell for now!
