Happy Halloween! Keep Your Cat Safe

(Photograph by cobalt123)
Though it is much better to always keep your furry friends indoors for many reasons, make sure you keep your cats (especially black ones) inside during the Halloween season. This way they can enjoy the holiday safe from cruel pranksters. For more holiday safety tips look here!

"In medieval times, black cats were associated with witchcraft, and they often suffered abuse, torture, and gruesome deaths at the hands of superstitious. While we'd like to think that people are more sophisticated today, black cats are still targeted by cruel people, particularly during the Halloween season, and it is well known that they are more difficult to place in loving, responsible homes." - PETA

Happy Halloween!

Dancer Doll

I just finished this doll! It is a creature called a Pendeogen (a person with red eyes, elf ears, and a furry tail). She is a dancer and dances so much her slippers are always worn out. I had fun with all the little ribbon details. The thing on the floor is supposed to be an old ballet slipper...

Base is by Amarylis (I changed the base's eye color). No stealing please!

New York City Ballet's Nutcracker (Sugar Plum)

I have to learn this dance for my ballet school's miniature Nutcracker
this year. I'm so excited that I actually get to be the Sugar Plum!

I've never seen the Balanchine choreography for this variation before. It's so pretty!

Arabian Girl Pixel Doll

Here is a new pixel doll I made today. I don't think she looks quite as good as some of my others. Probably because I'm a bit rusty after not dolling for a while, and this was my first time using a base this big... She turned out pretty though.

The base is by Doll On The Hill Factory.
No stealing please! Thanks.

Rainbow Birds

And last, but not least, the Lories and Lorikeets! They were probably my favorite part of the zoo trip because we got to go in their enclosure and feed them nectar. At one time I think I had about five on my head, four on my arms, and one or two on my shoulder! There was one on my shoulder that preened my eyelashes which was really sweet. Another kept biting my hand really hard and I had a bruise for a week! Anyways, here are some photos I got afterwards outside the cage. I think they liked having their pictures taken.

I'm not sure what kind of bird this is... It looks a bit like an African Sacred Ibis.

Some cute Grant's Zebras.

And a flock of Chilean Flamingo. We got to go into their enclosure, it was really cool!
