Lithuanian conductor Mindaugas Piecaitis caught wind of the YouTube phenomenon that is Nora, the piano-playing cat, and decided to compose an orchestral piece to frame Nora's piano playing. Barbie Next Top Model

My sister and I made a new look for our Barbie dolls! It is a corset top with a laced up back and a matching skirt made out of blue gingham ribbon. We also made a blue ribbon headband to go with it. Here are the photos from my photo shoot! (Click for larger versions)

Help Rescue Ringling's Elephants from Circus Cruelty

"In 2009, PETA went undercover at "the saddest show on Earth"—Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus—and captured Ringling workers on video as they beat and whipped elephants dozens of times in venues across the country.

The 11 elephants used in the show suffer month after month at the hands of Ringling and its crew. PETA documented that workers were striking elephants and tigers on the head, face, ears, trunk, legs, and other parts of their bodies with bullhooks and other abusive handling tools. The unit's animal superintendant and head elephant trainer were among those who used bullhooks—sharp, fireplace poker–like devices—to hook and yank elephants by their sensitive skin.

Join us in calling on Secretary of Agriculture Thomas J. Vilsack and urging the USDA to seize the elephants Ringling hauls around the country in filthy boxcars and forces to perform under the constant threat of punishment.

And please remember, if you attend a Ringling circus―or any circus that uses animals―you are supporting this suffering. Please, stay away from circuses that use animals." -PETA

Dogs

We saw many dogs at the park today. I wish that I had started taking pictures earlier! I missed some cute ones. Also I would really love to have a camera that could zoom without blurring (these were long distance photos)... I got some pictures of a group of little dogs (one was wearing a skirt!), but when I opened them on photoshop they were super blurry. And as you can see all the others are quite blurred too... Oh well.

Chinese Classical Dance 爱莲说 (Lotus) 邵俊婷

The name of this dance comes from a poem describing the quaint, graceful beauty of the lotus flower. This dance won first place in Senior Chinese Classical Dance division in 8th Taoli Competition.

Ballet Fashion

My sister and I have been watching a lot of Project Runway recently and I got inspired to make a piece of clothing. I made it for someone quite a bit smaller though, a ballet Barbie! It is a wrap around skirt made out of a scrap of black lace trim and a bit of black ribbon. It looks great paired with her classic black leotard! Now Barbie has a stylish new outfit to wear to ballet class.
