Don't you think it's horrible that several animals get abused so that we can have colorful fingernails or longer looking eyelashes?
I think animal testing is sick! Buy cruelty free!
Check out Caring Consumer.com for lists of companies that do and don't test. There is also this list:
COMPANIES TO BOYCOTT
The following companies either openly use animal-tested chemicals, or fail to demonstrate that the finished product and the ingredients they use have not been tested on animals since a fixed cut-off date.
* Alberto-Culver - Alberto VO5, Alberto Balsam
* Arm and Hammer (Church & Dwight)
* Bic Corporation - this company is currently observing a moratorium on animal testing but need encouragement to put a permanent ban on their testing in order to be removed from the testers list
* Block Drug Co. - Carpet Fresh, Polident, Sensodyne
* Boyle-Midway (Reckitt-Benckiser)
* Braun (Gillette Company) - also observing a moratorium but, I believe, Gillette have since put a ban on their testing and are currently awaiting removal from the Peta list. However, I have not seen this officially yet so can't be certain

* Parker Pens - see Gillette
* Pfizer - Listerine, Plax

* Procter and Gamble - one of the largest and wealthiest producers and manufacturers of cosmetics and household products yet they continue to test on animals. Here is a shortened list of some of the products they make - Ace, Alldays, Always, Ariel, Aussie (hair care range), Bold, Bounce, Bounty (kitchen roll), Camey soap, Charmin, Clairol, Cover Girl, Crest, Daz, Eukanuba Pet Foods, Fairy, Febreze, Fixodent, Giorgio Beverley Hills, Head And Shoulders, Helmut Lang fragrances, Iams, Laura Biogiotti, Lenor, Max Factor, Noxell, Oil Of Olay, Old Spice, Oral B, Pampers, Pantene, Pringles,
Secret, Sunny Delight, Swiffer, Tampax, Tempo tissues, Vicks (Vapo-rub etc), Vidal Sassoon, Wash & Go. As you can see, Procter and Gamble make up a large proportion of this market and some of the tests they do would make your blood boil. And if you are wondering why food might be relevant, well preservatives and colourings are tested and not with very pleasant results...
